From the author(s):
A full replacement for the second episode of
Doom (which means there are 8 levels - sorry,
no bonus level in this one, but you won't miss
it...).
In the months after the release of SERENITY, we
have been working hard to come up with a
worthy successor for it. ETERNITY has the same
look & feel as SERENITY has. In ETERNITY you
won't have to puzzle as much, but for that
more time has been put in the design of the
levels. We also think that ETERNITY is slighty
harder to play than SERENITY, but it is still
doable to play it at "Hurt me plenty" without
cheating.
This set of 8 levels has been made with the
word quality in mind. It's Mind here, not
Muscles! We have tried to find a good mixture
of action, architecture and adrenaline.
Some of the levels may be a breeze, others may
be a real pain in the *ss. But remember one
thing: YOU DON'T HAVE TO USE THE CHEATS!!!
There are a few very though places, but they
can be done. When it seems you can't get
around them without using the cheats, you may
be doing it the wrong way and/or you may have
missed one or more (valuable!) hidden rooms
(which contain power-ups, weapons and/or ammo).
Hidden rooms, as said before, can always be
recognized in some way (different texture,
different light-level, etc.).
My Review:
Eternity review
The best in the trilogy one of my favorite from the series
overview:
After a couple months after the original came out they released the
sequel, Eternity. The levels are different this time around - more
diverse and the levels are a whole lot better.
This episode replacement is no walk in the park just like the first one..
This is a great improvement over serenity and my favorite from the series.
Great traps great gameplay no much else to ask for
Level design:
Really good level design. The wad aged really well. The only problem I had
is the last level - kinda disappointing I thought but that's
just me. It seemed like they just made a couple rooms filled with barons
and cacos.
The traps were brilliant. some of the wad authors should look at
this for reference to make traps. The bridge trap was really cool.
the levels' layout was good but there were some annoying doors that don't
open. You find out they're not doors but walking or pressing a door that's
like 10 rooms away.
8.0 out of 10
Gameplay:
Fun Gameplay but some parts aren't that well planed the levels get harder
and harder of course, we know that don't we.
The enemys are plenty fun and great and none stop
The greatest part is the pacing fast and fun
this wad has some bad point like some parts is that some traps can screw
up like you enter a room the wrong way
Difficulty:
not that hard but hard some levels with large group's of enemys. I think
thats about it oh yeah and the traps.
This wad is hard enough to last you maybe a hour.
score:7.0
overall score 8.0
Not perfect but really good level replacement
