How to DOOM on the Nokia Series 60 & 80 phones
Ok, so you want to play DOOM on your phone. Congratulations! You've come to the right place! The first thing you are going to need, before you even get started is THIS FILE. This is a program called C2Doom. Note that this program is the game engine ONLY. You still need WADS, which are the files that hold all the game data. You can use your original doom.wad or the shareware version or any of the official Doom2.wad files, such as the one that came with TNT. For some excellent information on installation, screenshots, and more - you can go to this site which has a plethora of information on the subject. Needless to say, the fact that you can play Doom or Doom2 on your mobile phone is REVOLUTIONARY! My phone, while nice, can only play Doom RPG, so consider yourself fortunate.
So which phones support playing this game? Here's a pretty solid list:
Virtually any S60 or S80 phone should be able to play Doom as long as the phone has at least 16 megs of ram and are this version - S60 1.2 or S60 2.x s - A few notable exceptions are the 9210x, 7650 and 3650 phones.
How do I install the game?
Simply copy the c2doom application into your phone or memory card. A new icon will appear on your phone. When you access the application it will automatically look for wad files on your phone.
What are the controls?
On the S60:
run - pen, strafe left - 4, strafe right - 6, shoot - 5, open doors, activate switches (etc...) - 7,
On the S80
run - shift, strafe left - chr+left arrow, strafe right - chr + right arrow, shoot - ctrl, open doors, etc... - space
