Wolfenstein 3-D collection, and looked on the Internet for one with
Blake Stone, but couldn't find anything. Some Blake Stone walls and
objects are present in Blackadder's Barneystein patch, so I thought it
would be possible somehow to create a full Blake Stone patch. |
The review:
Ahhhh....Blake Stone. I really enjoyed that particular shooter by
Apogee. So it was with great pleasure to obtain a Wolf3D
addon that mimics the orginal Blake Stone so well.
First, the only drawback is a blue wall texture that seems to be a bit
loud. Loud enough to wake the whole neighborhood. It could have been a
little more subduded. This becomes very apparent in on section of the map
when it is in great profusiuon and your retinas start screaming
AAAAHHHHRRRRGGGHH!!
Beyond that however, the game is VERY well done. The sprites are from
Blake Stone and both well rendered and rich in detail. The maps are
balanced and challenging. Even the soda machines look like the orginals!
This addon is fun, fast paced, and addictive. Very true to
the original.

Yes, this is well worh the download, screaming blue walls aside, hopefully
I will encounter more of this kind of addon.
